Thank you, Dr. Watson, for all of your recent insightful posts. I'm afraid most have dismissed Sonya Massey's rebuke as a symptom of mental illness. I appreciate your opening my eyes to the potential reality of it. How could a pot of hot water from that distance be seen as a threat needing to be addressed with gunfire? This most recent post also addressed further thoughts I've had since reading your "Bacchanal" insight. After that event, one Christian speaker posted about how we are called to be "unoffendable." I was reflecting that I don't need to take personal offense, and Jesus doesn't need me to defend him, but we are supposed to call evil "evil." Thus I was glad to see your comments about "Calling attention to evil actions doesn’t mean we are outraged. It means we want to identify them as evil." Praying for your healing, and please keep writing!

Dear brother. With each of your articles I read, I feel like I am sitting in a session with the Inklings, discussing important and weighty matters of the kingdom. Thank you again for inviting us in to your study. I concur with one of the posters here; keep writing!!

Can I be captured by the msg of Jonah w/o accepting the reality of the person of Jonah? I say yes . I need not ascribe a real , space time ( x,t),in order to find the meaning of the writer.

Really interesting article, Bob, and I agree with so much of it, but as to the suggestion that the poor woman perceived evil, and was about to rebuke with a pot of boiling water, I question where the evil was, because doing something like that with a police officer is a guarantee of getting legitimately shot and perhaps killed - regardless of what the police officers do or say in an adrenaline driven and life threatening moment. Obviously, nobody needs to or should consent to boiling water being thrown in their face, and that is justification for lethal force. The authority of law enforcement must be respected, regardless of whether an officer crosses any lines. You comply at the scene and take it up later if there are any issues to redress - at least if you want to see the light of another day.

I just quoted the same Isaiah verse in a poem I posted called "...and Now a Message from our Sponsor". Thanks for the great article.

Dr Watson, I am so very pleased that though you, who are a part of academia, have not let that prevent you from sharing the truth in love. May I offer another reason why I believe that Black American Christians, like their relatives over in Africa seem to have no problem accepting the spiritual truth’s within Scripture? I don’t believe that they have been as adversely affected by the Enlightenment as much as we Anglo Western believers have been.
