This brings to my mind the very first SIN that brought us to this world of corruption; this type of technology promises the ability for us to be just like God.

Thank you Dr. David reminded me to remember again the creation of God about mankind. We are vailable to God. God wants us to live as our true selves. Every part of our body is wonderfully shaped by Him—each cell, blood vessel, bone, tendon, and internal organ is part of a system designed to support one another. Our brains, too, are marvelously created by God. When we speak to Him, our thoughts are guided by the Holy Spirit—not by artificial intelligence or any external aid. God is eternal. He hears us when we speak, and He also desires that we listen when He speaks to us.

God has granted humanity wisdom and understanding, just slightly less than that of the angels. So, as we carefully study His work in creating mankind, let us use all the intelligence He has given us to serve Him faithfully.

If - when - we get by the embryo issue and move to the pre embryonic stage where we deal with egg and sperm the modification (CRISPR) will soften objections. Before conception issues will not carry the after conception issues. ( Additionally other nations are eager to produce better soldiers for war and we will needs follow. )

Much of this sounds like the Buck v Bell U.S. 1927 - decision to allow sterilization of the feeble minded in order to better society. The eugenics decision that plagues nations. (More)

Oh, Come Lord Jesus! You are right, Dr. Watson. First, I could get a burger "my way." Then, I could get a car or house "my way." Why are we surprised that people are suggesting we "make" children without undesirable traits? Aren't these "our" children, after all? Haven't we become the "creators?" If we abort millions of children each year anyway, what's the problem with this plan?

Oh, we are doomed to destruction apart from the Lord's mercy...

AI, I agree, is deeply concerning. It can be used for "good" purposes but human nature being what it is, it is most likely to be used for "evil." Students who use it to write essays or term papers are cheating themselves. It reminds me of an episode of "All in the Family" where Archie wrote little cheating notes for his high school equivalency test. His daughter, Gloria, said, "Daddy, that's cheating!" "You're cheating yourself!" Cheating has always been occurring. I am saddened that it is no longer uncommon. Morality such as truth, honesty, and integrity are becoming rare much to the detriment of us all. We no longer demand it. We accept it as part of the world where we live.
