I liked your comments about 'Character' and 'Power' on the Spirit and Truth panel discussion. It takes both for integrity.

Great article David. Perhaps pride is the cardinal sin, insofar as it usurps God’s authority with our own. All other sin derives from this rejection of obedience. The fruit of humility is the first sign I seek out when forming new relationships with fellow leaders in the church.

Good article. I would add that our leaders need sustained, fervent prayer. The enemy works overtime on leaders, especially those with prominent ministries, but the Lord works with us through our “fervent, effectual prayers” to provide extra protection for our leaders as well. I think that often, people think that the leadership has it all together and only needs a token prayer or two tossed their way, but in the military, the general is surrounded by layers of protection. The church should be no different. Some of the protection should be in the form of great structures and norms, like you talked about, and some of it should be sustained, organized intercession.

Being a truth teller is a difficult position. There can be no fear of man, only obedience to the Spirits leading. And better make sure its not something else pushing to correct a faith leader.
